The Treta Family
The Golden Fry is a beautiful modern fish & chip shop/deli located in Wellhall Road in Hamilton and run by the Treta family. Marina Treta’s father Mario Fionda first opened The Golden Fry as a fresh fish & chip shop in 1967, where Marina helped from aged 5, standing on a ginger box to put salt and vinegar on the fish and chips. Marina and her husband Joe took the business over when they married in 1980. Since then, the business has grown and diversified over the years to take into account the number of businesses and homes in the local area and the expansion in people’s desire to try something a little bit different. Joe and Marina’s grown up children, Manuela & Luigi are also bringing their skills into the business. Today, inside the Golden Fry you will find a bright, welcoming environment filled with delicious, mouth watering scents, the original warm Scots-Italian welcome and some of the freshest and most delicious hot & cold food in the area.

The wide choice now on offer at the new Golden Fry means that you can drop in from 7.30am for your freshly brewed Bei & Nannini coffee and a pastry or bagel; visit our Golden Deli at lunchtime for a freshly baked baguette or Panini and/or come in and see us in the evening to pick up your family’s evening meal and watch us make pasta al momento, in front of you as you enjoy a coffee at our bistro benchwhile you wait.”
